BLISS HOTEL

Hinton, Alberta

JWT was engaged by PAR999 an upstart hospitality investment corporation to conceive of a new brand of Hotels, The Bliss and conceptualize their first hotel located on the golf course at Hinton, Alberta.

We envision the Bliss brand as an informal place.  It will be a place that guests can treat like it’s their own. This is achieved through the crafting of a thought provoking spatial experience rendered with exquisitely selected materials; skillfully curated furnishings; and carefully orchestrated details.  We believe that really close attention to detail creates mystery.

The architectural design concept balances an economical simplistic building massing with a rich and textured material palette.  The plan envisions a design which is tactile, warm and very inviting  environment for the guests and employees to experience and draw on for their own personal well being.  The concept plan further enhances the users experience through a suggestion of carefully curated artwork and furniture furnishings, some of which will be custom designed.

Materials are the things that tell the truth. They touch the skin and really give you memory. The plan envisions careful attention to materials. How they react to different light, how the contrast with one another will render the Bliss interior and exterior spaces in a way that defines the Bliss brand as being unique to itself.  It will be a brand of luxury yet a brand that is also inclusive. Luxury is no longer about showmanship. It is how we experience a place, a room, a property. And how we feel in this place. Bliss Hotels will be brand that is synonymous with the Rocky Mountains.
