LANDSCAPE

Landscape Architecture is a dynamic discipline that bridges planning and architecture. It is the design of the space around the buildings we inhabit and in that sense it is what we experience in villages, towns and cities.

Landscape design requires part artist, part story teller (or poet), part architect and part pragmatist. It is a blending of ecology, engineering and architecture. We often create the landscapes around the buildings we design. We always integrate our expertise in Landscape Architecture into our planning projects and we are delighted to take on pure garden designs which often involve the collaboration with other professionals. James is a seasoned landscape architect who has often sat with the BCSLA Board of Examiners; he is a past member of the BCSLA Board of Directors and has served on the CSLA National Design Awards Jury. James has a passion for plants, and frequently can be found in tending to his own garden planting in Gibsons BC where he has planted over 40 trees. James is a master at site grading, often working on sites with extreme topography, and his planting designs have a focus on sustainability and resilience.
