SEYMOUR LANDING
Bowen Island, BC
In the 1990s Bowen Island Properties was engaged by lenders to rescue a failing residential development on Bowen Island called Cowen Point. By 2005 it was clear they needed some professional helping in re-envisioning the golf course residential lands. JWT was engaged to study each neighbourhood including the area of the proposed club house (a clubhouse had not been built yet). The JWT plan envisioned a resort style community with the focus being a 20 unit Inn which included cottages, cabins, a small Inn, a clubhouse, a small formal lawn, a dance hall/ conference centre, a pier and water taxi service to downtown Vancouver and a series of residential designs for the existing lots. A total of 160 units are proposed located in small clusters along the hillside offering beautiful views out to the Staight of Georgia and beyond. The architecture is clad in cedar shingles, warm stucco colours and board and batten siding designed to be authentic to Bowen Island’s Arts and Crafts period architecture. JWT also provided architectural services for a 5,000sf clubhouse which can be seen in our architecture side of this site. The plans provided a vision for Bowen Island Properties to raise extensive capital. fund new development partners and increase the absorption of lot sales.
